Custom MvM servers is where boys doctors become Burly Beast Medic. But still good guide, learned a few neat things, as i thought my perfomance on medic was already on peak.
Hell yeah! Custom MvM is a lot more expansive of Medic's gameplay, so I'm sure there's a bunch of stuff that I didn't even consider due to just never seeing them lol
I mostly watched this video to compare it to how i currently play and man have i been doing things wrong. Canteen specialist was always a "oh i have extra cash" thing. I almost always focused on healing and overheal after i got one tick of shield. Im gonna play a few games and see how it turns out. I love using the Quick Fix in MvM because it greatly increases your survivability, and maximum overheal upgrades get rid of its downside and let you benefit from the uber for quite a while, even after the effects end.
Medibots, including giant medics, pop their uber in either of the conditions below: 1. Their own health below 50. 2. Their pockets' health below 50%. Typical offline bot behaviors. Very nice guide btw. Many ppl call out their medics for being "idle", "non-existent". But very few of them elaborate about the definition of being good.
2:14 vaccine is like inspired in pd2 just use the charge and instant revive if you revive someone with vac charge, you can instantly charge up the shield, so it put quick fix an awkward situation, only good at when enemy has too much knockback while giant scout is overrun your position
2:01 When your resistances and heal rate are so high you OUTHEAL a Giant Crit Heavy without giving an inch of ground, it's hard not to feel invincible. A backstab will absolutely serve you a slice of humble pie, though, so watch out.
Very cool stuff. By the way, if your team keeps dying, you revive much faster while using any ubercharge. So if your entire team gets wiped by a giant health-on-hit deflector heavy, pop your uber to mass revive in seconds. The vaccinator's uber is special, though: when popped, it just INSTANTLY revives the person you're currently reviving (note that the revived teammate may or may not get the vac bubble, it's kinda random). Since it's based on when you pop uber and not while you're ubering, uber duration on vaccinator makes you less efficient at reviving. Good to know this for harder missions outside of Two Cities, where you might lose someone important at a really bad time and need them back ASAP, or when doing silly challenges like "MVM but every robot kills you in one hit" Also, another tip, certain projectiles pierce medic's shield: flamethrower flames, dragon's fury fireballs (common to see in custom missions), righteous bison beams (rarely shows up in custom missions), pomson beams, and in addition if the weapon is given projectile penetration (not common but possible in custom missions): huntsman arrows, crusader's crossbow syringes, and rescue ranger bolts. Keep this in mind if you're shieldbashing or you may die even with the shield up.

You 100% should make video about mvm oddities( I hope you will mention soldierknight playstyle with bugged half-zatoichi upgrades, this is such an underrated subclass). Anyway, this video may be the best medic guide for mvm rn, love how you showed other fun medic playstyles and unknown techniques. Also waiting for spy guide, he has an undeserved bad reputation in mvm community ( especially after that one video from funny yellow hat man)
@@Sinkularity it's prolly more like a feature not a bug, but you can fully upgrade half-zat as demoknight (HoK not needed for obvious reason), then switch to soldier and for some reason it keeps upgrades that you couldn't normally upgrade as soldier. At first glance it's not that useful and you're just playing worse demoknight, but soldier have more base health (300 hp with overheal) and also can use banners(usually battalion's) or mantreads to prevent knockback. For mobility you can use a rocket jumper ( btw rocket spec works on it too). This playstyle not the best but can be very fun on some waves(especially on wave 666 with a lot of credits and removable upgrades) You might as well try it with airstrike. Just upgrade crits on half-zat and damage(optionally), try to kill small bots like scouts or spies and use it on airstrike with ammo canteens. You can also watch Vanfeldt for understanding this playstyle more accurately, as I know he's the first one who discovered this technique EDIT: Don''t pay attention to my quote about base health, I literally forgot that demo with booties has 200 hp too xD but in my defense can say that with battalion's base hp and overheal hp will be bigger
"if you're using a lot of canteens, ask your engineer to buy two way teleports" as an engineer main... There are engineer's who DON'T always buy two way teles?
If you use quick fix and max out overheal and healing rate, then it basically becomes impossible for the person you have your beam on to die. So if you put your beam on say a heavy at 300 health, then once he is at max overheal (which will be almost instant) you will have all but a sliver of shield

ah, I don't really play that mode often cause I completed it a few times and then that was really that. It's mostly just breaking down the huge amount of robots into chunks of what is going on and then just handling each one accordingly. Starting with the 5000 credits is super nice because you can be super strong right off the bat.
could you make a video on guides for community mann vs machine? some tips like the jump height ones are map dependent and waves may mandate usage of a certain medigun type, knowing what to look for in a wave to decide on medigun would be super helpful for medics trying out the custom missions. As a side note, vaccinator is a fantastic medigun for revives, as you can revive nearly instantly when popping uber on any mediguns, and vaccinator can pop at only 25% uber (one ubersaw hit).
I've only really "dabbled" in community mvm during events, as most of my play time is in the main tours. I do find it fascinating how community mvm gets super creative with bots tho, and how Spy is widely more acceptable there. Though I may not be making videos on it in the immediate near future, I can see myself making something about it later on.
I would love to know how to create "Party Busters" intentionally, I've gotten some strange acting busters before but learning how to do it on purpose would be hilarious!
Yes! I'm planning on making guides for the more nuanced classes and then other ones for bulk stuff but the answer is yes. They do take a while though, but I am working on them!
I think there's one more thing you missed You could revive people faster when using ubercharge I don't really know that if its true but when i did that my teammates revived quickly
I did mention it here, and it does! If you're using the vaccinator, it instantly revives and uses 2 of the charges, but 1 still basically insta-revives too. Quick-fix revives on average faster, and the ubercharge will do it faster than the other ones, but they're all still generally fast.
Something else to note: The vaccinator instantly revived teammates when you uber them and since you can uber 4 times you can pickup your entire team of they die fast, just be sure to swap the resistance type if your already ubered that same type or it wont insta revive. Also vaccinator specifically allows for more extended uber duration upgrades than the other mediguns, meaning at max duration can give resistance of one type for almost as long as default uber. EDIT:I just read another comment that goes over this exact thing ;-;
Yeah, basically. My last channel was very focused on a certain thing and so in terms of tf2 content, it just doesn't get pushed in the algorithm at all. So new channel so I don't have to deal with trying to brute force the algorithm

Resistance is like respond to your enemy, only do crit resistance when crit is on table, otherwise it is useless resistance
7:17 your shield also block enemy melee, just look down or up keep shield as close as possible, and you can block melee attack with shield

You also get shields from your own healing while using the Uber on the quickfix. I'll often just tank damage to get the bit of shield charge
